The 2027 AP
UN-CONFERENCE
WhaT’s the AP un-CONFERENCE
The AP UN-Conference is an opportunity for AP Teachers to connect virtually with others in their AP Subject under the direction of a Certified AP Consultant. This provides an opportunity to assess your course mid-year, address new questions uncovered during the first semester, and help prepare for spring AP assessments with a tailored review plan. The goal is to UNcover new ideas, UNravel new insights, and UNlock the potential of both you and your students. This is a valuable experience for teachers new to their AP course (1-3 years teaching AP), teachers looking to increase student engagement and assessment, teachers whose courses have recently been altered (New CED changes), or any teachers looking for a collaborative environment to learn together and ask questions. The following format is a sample of what to expect, though each consultant tailors the agenda to best fit their course.
Course and Exam Description & Course Planning - The consultant will refer to the CED and make connections to the curricular requirements paying attention to attendee questions about covering material in a timely manner.
Expanding AP Opportunities - Facilitate discussions on strategies that will help create a supportive and engaging AP classroom for all students.
Strategies & Pedagogical Tools: Identify and explain instructional strategies and tools teachers can use to teach the content and skills in the CED.
AP Classroom - use student data to show examples of how AP Classroom can be used, especially as a review tool as the spring exam approaches.
Assess & Reflect - Show how to use the Instructional Planning Report (IRP) and to leverage data to identify student strengths and weaknesses and reflect on implications for instruction.
As extra time permits, the Consultant will serve as a resource to discuss/field questions as necessary from attendees. These are especially relevant in updated courses with new agendas such as projects and portfolios.
